Erik Stromberg the yacht product manager at Jeanneau describes a delivery of the new Sun Odyssey 349 to Cannes for press briefings. “I did an 80 nautical mile delivery from La Ciotat to Cannes in the south of France. We had a fantastic run downwind in 28-35 knots of wind. We hit 14.7 knots surfing down 3m waves and generally had a great time! We even averaged over 10 knots over the first 4 hours. All this in a 10m boat without a backstay!
Once we got to Cannes, we had 3 very good days of sailing during our press trials. We welcomed onboard 33 journalists from over 20 different countries and they were duly impressed by the speed and handling of the boat.”
Journalist Kevin represented Australia and will be writing a report in an upcoming issue of Trade-A-Boat. Here is a little video presentation of the boat that was done at Cannes.
First tests of the swing keel version have now been completed (see photo below). For any other details on this exciting new design contact PBS on (02)99799755 or firstname.lastname@example.org .
