2001 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45.2

A shoal draft version of the highly regarded Sun Odyssey 45.2, this a private yacht delivered new in Sydney. The 45.2 was an early twin wheel production cruiser that combined a remarkably big cockpit and superb interior layout, while also offering a big bow locker and owners’ cabin with island style bed. It sold in very big numbers with this later example being number 408.

Nicely updated with recent rigging, new instrumentation, a new canvas package, a near new and large bank of AGM batteries combined with 610W of solar, and much more this would make a superb yacht for enjoying our local waters in great comfort, or exploring the East coast of Australia with the shoal draft opening up many possibilities not available to yachts of this size with normal draft.

The cockpit is well protected with long bench seats and a proper step-down transom with opening doors for easy access. There is abundant stowage space in three cockpit lockers, plus the big bow locker aft of the anchor locker.

Down below there is seating for 8 adults around the dinette, which can also be easily converted to an additional double, a long galley to port with lots of counter space and a front and top loading fridge as well as separate cool locker for drinks. A full size nav’ table makes an ideal workstation as well, and opposite it is the day head which is electric.

The owners cabin forward has a Queen-sized Island style bed, vanity unit and ensuite with shower and electric head. Both aft cabins are generous.

This yacht has never done any hard miles but has been enjoyed locally over many years.
