75th Sydney-Hobart Results:

As usual in this years Rolex Sydney-Hobart the media focused on the super maxis, though the superbly sailed TP52’s got the overall results and some of the attention. We were glued to IRC 6 where the 35 to 40 footers were having an incredible battle and places were changing constantly throughout the race. It was fascinating to watch.

To our delight PBS client Shaun Tiedemann on the Sydney 36CR “Willy Smith’s Philosopher’s” came away with the win (pictured), but was given a good run for his money by another PBS client Pierre Gal on his custom Lombard 34 “Mistral”. Also in the hunt was another client Phil Moloney with his Archmbault A40RC “Papillon” which we currently have for sale and finished just outside the top three. Incidentally the yacht that came 3rd was the First 40.7 “Ocean Crusaders” which we sold 2 years ago.

Well done all!

With next year having the first ever two-handed division in the Hobart it will be really interesting to see how many owners see the adventure and challenge in doing this iconic race short-handed.
