“The time had come. The boys were old enough and so were we. It had been 12 years since we had been involved in a sizeable sailing boat and we missed it.
So we looked around on the internet and we went to the boat show. The combination of liking Jeanneau boats and meeting Lee Condell turned out to be a good one.
The boat we found was a 2006 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 49 DS. No, not a new boat, but a beautiful 6 year old privately owned boat. Her lines just worked for us.
The surveyor found her to be in excellent condition and she was well optioned for both cruising and racing. So we bought her.
We added a few things, like solar panelling, external window shades, a fresh anti-foul, had her painted blue and gold and had the decks detailed.
We took delivery three weeks ago and sailed her home. She went like a dream.
I feel that we now have a fantastic boat and that this is in no small measure due to Lee Condell.
Right from the start Lee was a delight to deal with. He was frank, fair, open and never at all pushy in all our dealings with him. He arranged all the extra work we had done, had it done by good tradesmen and personally inspected the work before OK’ing it. Two days after delivery, he came to our home and spent a whole day going through every detail of the boats systems.
