The Sun Odyssey 410:

The latest release from Jeanneau is the Marc Lombard designed Sun Odyssey 410, the same designer as the highly popular 349. This is an important yacht in the series at the most popular size and replaces the long running and very popular 409/419. It’s remarkable that they have managed to incorporate the signature sloping side decks, and all rectangular beds on a yacht of this size so successfully!

In addition there are some really nice designs touches here. One element is the chez lounge on the outboard side of the galley forward, which simply extends to form a sea-berth in the centre of the yacht, or form inboard seating to the optional deluxe saloon table. Another example is the galley sink lid which lifts out and drops into a slot to form a splash-back. Ingenious!

The Sun Odyssey 410 is also likely to sail especially well as Marc Lombard is at the forefront of modern racing yacht design, and there look to be elements of his successful racers in this hull form.

PBS has secured two early production orders once the yachts start coming off the production line in March of next year. Our demonstrator will be a performance version with taller rig, 6% more sail area, Flex laminate sails, Dyform rigging and Dyneema halyards, Hydraulic textile backstay, composite steering wheels, and adjustable genoa cars. The second order is a conventional sail plan and spec’s, and both are 3-cabin single head versions, though layouts can be changed provided we have notice in time.
