Sun Fast 3600 in Sydney-Hobart:

Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron member Mark Hipgrave has entered his Sun Fast 3600 “Mister Lucky” in the Sydney-Hobart having recently had the yacht shipped to Australia having completed the OSTAR single-handed transatlantic race on it finishing 3rd (another SF3600 won). Mark took delivery of the yacht in the UK and raced there with the very active fleet of Sun Fast owner’s.

Now he’s invited a group of these owners to come to Australia to crew with him to Hobart and a very well experienced crew they are. Among them is UK Jeanneau dealer Sea Venture’s MD Nigel Colley, who has owned and raced his own Sun Fast 3200’s and 3600’s in the name “Fastrak”. Nigel has completed the around Britain and Ireland race, Fastnet’s, many of the RORC races as well as the short-handed association events on the South coast of the UK, so has a wealth of experience on board the current Sun Fast models.

In addition WA Jeanneau dealer Todd Giraudo is racing his Sun Fast 3600 “Kraken” in the Melbourne-Hobart race as a warm up to the Melbourne-Osaka, in which he is competing along with two other Sun Fast 3600’s and a Sun Fast 3200.

Whether IRC or short-handed racing, club or twilight racing the Sun Fast 3200 and 3600 have proved themselves time and time again as being both highly competitive, and easily handed. For more details contact PBS on (02)9979 9755 or info@performanceboating.com.au
