In June 2018 we delivered a brand new Jeanneau 51 “Wild Spirit” to Kevin Horne and partner Diane Rogers at Canet en Roussillon on the French Mediteranean coast, with PBS service manager Damien Goff on hand to oversee the commissioning and do the handover and shakedown. That first European season they cruised the Western Med’ and then wintered it back on the hard at Canet.
After launching in May 2019 they continued along the French and then Spanish coast to Gibraltar, before then making the passage to the Canary Islands for the start of ARC+2019.
For the first leg from Palma to Mindelo on the Cape Verde Islands “Wild Spirit” finished a very creditable 9th over the line to achieve a 2nd in division A. However, on the second leg from Mindelo to St Lucia they arrived 6th over the line to win their division and place 1st outright! A fantastic achievement.
There were 18 yachts in their division including a CNB 60, First 50, Clipper 60 and Jeanneau 64.
As Kevin has reported to us “a great boat that really showed a surprising turn of speed with good open ocean manners. Really extremely happy”
