Further progress is being made towards the introduction of Jeanneau’s new 36 foot club and offshore racer, the Sun Fast 3600, with a dedicated website now established which we have linked to our Australian site sunfast.com.au. The Sun Fast 3600 is aimed at crewed as well as short-handed racing and is available with options aimed at a wide range of uses. Twin wheel or tiller steering, alloy or carbon rig, standard or larger carbon bow-pole and packaged with the new B&G Zeus instruments. A considerable amount of thought has gone into this design. On the website above you will find the standard specifications, brochure, a test IRC certificate and lots of images. Pricing and availability are expected to be announced in coming months with the yacht due to debut at the La Rochelle Show in September.
In the meantime the Sun Fast 3200 continues to shine. Nigel Colley in the UK has launched his new SF3200 “Fasttrak IX” which has a longer bow-pole and optimised sails. In its very first outing racing 2-handed in the RORC JOG race from Cowes to Cherbourg it managed a 3rd overall under IRC in the entire 32 boat fleet!
