The new Jeanneau Yachts 60 made its debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival, with two versions on display. One in cruising guise featured the cockpit hardtop and a layout with master forward and twin aft cabins, while the other example had the taller carbon rig and open aft cockpit, with the full width owners cabin aft and twin convertible cabins forward.
The Jeanneau Yachts 60 benefits from the long collaboration between the superyacht duo of Philippe Briand and Andrew Winch, and the Jeanneau team who together have produced the most successful production yachts over 50 feet in the world, consistently for the last 17 years.
The 60 incorporates all of this know how in a modern performance cruising hull that also features Jeanneau’s innovative sloping side decks, making access around the decks easy and safe.
The cockpit seating area is substantial and all lines are led outboard of the seating, so that there is no interference between those relaxing in the cockpit and those sailing the yacht. In fact with the optional stern thruster and secondary electric winches this is a yacht that can be easily managed short-handed.
Even in the full width aft owners cabin layout the tender garage remains, so the best of both Worlds, achieved with this modern chined hull design that improves balance and directional stability.
Multiple layouts are available, as you would expect, hinged around a mid-ship galley that is positioned forward of the salon and full width across the yacht.
The saloon exudes space and light taking up the full beam of the yacht with a u-shaped saloon to port, while to starboard owners may choose their own loose seating, or choose a fixed 2-seater lounge forward of the nav’ station.
The Jeanneau 60 has the most comprehensive standard inventory in class, with the ability to customise to suit your sailing aspirations. The first example sold to Australia will be delivered later this year and displayed at The Sanctuary Cove Show next year.
