A traditional large L-shaped galley, forward facing nav’ table and abundant storage has made these yachts popular for long voyages, and they have proven their sea-keeping ability time and time again with several Australian owned examples have covered over 30,000 miles.

This yacht has been well equipped for East coast cruising by a couple with a bow-thruster and autopilot, cockpit mounted plotter, Anchor winch cockpit control, mast mounted pole for poling out the headsail, an outboard crane on the pushpit, solar and more. It's been fitted with a Sinewave invertor  which will power most 240 volt appliances, including the galley mounted microwave.

The 42DS is a balanced a well performing cruising yacht and although the fuel capacity is relatively small the 54hp Yanmar is remarkably frugal, using just 2.2 Litres an hour at 6 knots with a clean bottom, but it is also very easy on these yachts to add both fuel and water capacity.

These yachts offer an awful lot for the money in terms of a comfortable go anywhere cruising yacht that is extremely comfortable for extended time onboard.
