Anzac Day saw our final event in the Jeanneau Cup series for this season with a turnout of 12 Jeanneau yachts including six Sun Odyssey 349’s. The forecast was for very light fluky winds, but a steady South Easter filled in and so it ended up being a great afternoon of sailing.

The pursuit format has proved popular with the faster yachts starting later and so based on handicap the first home wins. Despite several yachts misunderstanding the course and sailing an extra leg there were some very close finishes.

On the day Peter McClelland’s Sun Fast 37 “Macscap” was first home, followed by the first of the 349’s Frank Milner’s “Pinta Bay” and then Marcus Gillezeau on the SO36i “Aurora II”. The 2nd SO349 home was David Hudson’s “Knosi” and 3rd Michael Curtin and partners on “Quicksilver”.

So, the overall results for the series are as follows and a big congratulations to both the place getters and everyone that took part, especially to Scott and his partners who bought the Jeanneau One-Design 35 last year and have put a lot of work into restoring it and getting it back to winnings ways:
