The first of our events for the summer, our Jeanneau Cup Race 1 takes place on Saturday the 23rd of November at Middle Harbour Yacht Club with a pursuit race with starts from 12.30pm. The race is open to any Jeanneau with a Cat’ 7 safety certificate and entries will be appropriately handicapped depending on whether they enter to white sail, or use spinnakers.

Always fun with a diverse course taking in seven islands on Sydney Harbour this is a great way to spend half a day sailing with other Jeanneau owners on the harbour. Last season we had a record number of participants and a diverse fleet of yachts.

You can register for any of the Jeanneau Cup events online at the MHYC website by clicking here. Note the details of all upcoming Jeanneau Cup events are listed in the PBS Calendar at the bottom of this newsletter.

Note that for this year MHYC have introduced the SailPass membership scheme whereby all crew taking part will need to register and pay $5 on the day if not already a SailPass member. SailPass is a scheme being driven by Yachting Australia to ensure that clubs know who are sailing on boats in events that they run as this is a duty of care. The other important aspect of it is to ensure that crews are insured. You may not be aware that current boat insurance policies don’t cover crew, so that if a crew is injured they have to take legal action against the boats owner in order to make a claim. With SailPass membership you are automatically covered. See further details here SailPass
