As usual Jeanneau had the biggest number of competitors in the cruising divisions at the Sail Port Stephens regatta earlier in the month and featured highly in the results. Peter Byford’s Sun Odyssey 469 “L’Esprit” won Performance Cruising division 1, and Jonathan Threlfall’s Sun Fast 36 “Campeador” won division 2, with David Edmiston’s Sun Odyssey 37 “Passion” 2nd. In Performance Racing division Glenn Smith’s Sun Fast 3200 “Steadfast” was unlucky to get a 4th overall on a count-back.
This years event had a record entry and if you’ve taken part in this series you’ll know why. A great atmosphere, terrific organisation, easily available accomodation close by and a great place to sail. What more could you want!
In addition PBS client Dave Griffin won the Commodore’s Cup division 2 on his Titan 36 “Al Fresco”. Congratulations to all and next year we hope to be back there with an even bigger contingent, hopefully including some of the Sun Odyssey 349’s which would undoubtedly do very well!
