Jeanneau 64 – Our first impressions:

In September Ron travelled to the South of France to attend the Cannes International Boat Show with the expressed intention of inspecting & having a training session onboard the newly launched Jeanneau 64 model.

With 17 of this the flagship of the range sold within 8 months the Jeanneau 64 has been an astonishing success offering clients a semi-custom Super yacht at production yacht pricing. Stepping aboard I was immediately impressed by her truly beautiful lines drawn by Philippe Briand and reminiscent of many of his custom Super-yacht designs seen sailing the world. I was amazed by the sheer size & functionality of the cockpit area, with features such as a fold away BBQ, refrigeration, galley area & sink set behind 2 separate tables and all located in the area in front of any control lines, so guests enjoying this dedicated area are not interrupted by sail control lines. The 64 on display had the large sun lounge area at the stern but there is also an option for a flush cockpit as seen on large race yachts.

Walking below to the saloon & galley areas the exceptional talents of Internationally awarded British designer Andrew Winch are shown, offering a contemporary simplistic feel, whilst at the same time heaps of neat features & a fantastic use of space to accommodate those wishing to spend serious time aboard. The Galley area is a breath of fresh air with large amounts of bench space, storage & copious amounts of refrigeration.

The interior of the show boat & in fact all 17 orders placed to-date are crafted in the optional light oak timber & contrasting Milano floors, whilst the upholstery was in Nubuck Leather.

Jeanneau have really listened to their market & realize that every owner’s demands are different, so hence offer 8 different interior layouts to choose from.
