Jeanneau 60th anniversary!

Happy New Year to all of our valued clients and newsletter readers. This is a very special year for Jeanneau marking a remarkable 60 years of boat building! Henri Jeanneau starting building small power boats in 1957 for himself which developed into a business in 1959 and the company built its first fully GRP boats as early as 1961. Today Jeanneau is a giant of boat building in the World, which combined with its sister companies in the publicly listed Beneteau Group form the largest boat building entity in the World.

Jeanneau itself is staggering, using four main sites in France, production of small power boats in Poland and a shared production facility in the US. The company is currently enjoying huge success with many models in the Sun Odyssey range selling strongly, especially the remarkable Sun Odyssey 349 which continues to be the biggest selling cruising keel boat in the World, but at the other end of the scale the name brand Jeanneau yacht series continues Jeanneau’s success as the number one builder of cruising yachts over 50 feet for the last decade. The first of that series, and the flagship, the Jeanneau 64 has set a new benchmark in the industry and has exceeded all expectations, as has the 54 that was released last year. The new 51 is off to a positive start with strong sales including two sold to Sydney already, and the first boats are not due off the production line until next month!
