Jeanneau have offered as standard on their deck-saloon models in-mast furling mainsails which offer incredible ease of handling, but the only issue is having less power in light conditions. One of our 42DS owners has just had a new mainsail made by OneSail with full length vertical battens which offers a full roach (and therefore power) along with the convenience of in-mast furling.
