CANNES BOAT-SHOW REPORT:

Ron & Christine had the onerous job of travelling to the French Riviera to see the new 44DS & 509 on display for the first time at Cannes Boat Show, also pay a visit to the commissioning yard we use for Med Deliveries in Port Frejus about 20 kilometes west of Cannes. Below is a brief summation of his report:

Sun Odyssey 44 DS:
Jeanneau & its design team have produced a yacht that is visually striking both on deck & below, with a break away from tradition in a new Walnut tinted timber below, combined with areas of white moulded surfaces in the saloon, galley & bathrooms she is very much a yacht of 2012. The yacht on display was the 2 Cabin (they were huge)/ 2 Head configuration which is ideal & really designed for a couple & there best friends to spend serious time aboard.

Sun Odyssey 509
This yacht offers more space below decks than the current Jeanneau 53, her galley has set new standards & is “T” shaped in design offering fantastic space for 3 to assist in preparing meals & getting drinks without all being on top of each other. The transom gate opens up to nearly full width across the stern adding considerably to the feeling of a BIG cockpit when at anchor. Interestingly the saloon had a combination of off White & Orange upholstery which looked great & really added warmth to the area below decks.

Overall we took over 300 photos of these & the rest of the range, so if you require more information on these yachts or others in the range please give Ron a call & he can forward some to you.
