The 2025 Double Handed World Championship is to be held in Cowes from September 22nd to October 1st. Supported by Jeanneau, it is a mixed crew event and will be raced on Jeanneau Sun Fast 30 ODs.
Last year 22 teams took part, and it was narrowly won by the UK team of Maggie Adamson and Cal Finlayson. This year two Australian Teams will compete, and we’re delighted that both teams are made up of recent co-skippers of PBS Director Lee Condell. James Whelan, who has been racing with Lee on the Jeanneaun Sun Fast 3300 Toucan, and Lincoln Dews who was Lee’s co-skipper over several season’s, including in the Hobart Race on the Sun Fast 3300 Sun Fast Racing. James is racing with great friend and highly experienced Stacey Jackson (PBS made 3300 Sunfish available to the pair for the Southport race 2 years ago), while Lincoln is joined by another highly acclaimed offshore racer, Liz Wardley.
This year there will be up to 28 teams taking part in the RORC run event. Anyone with experience of racing in the Solent will confirm that it has significant tactical challenges, so that combined with the strict one design of the Sun Fast 30OD will make for exceptionally close racing!
We wish them well…
