2019 BYA Winner: Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 410:

The British Yachting Awards have just been announced and we’re not surprised that the new Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 410 came out on top as the Cruising Yacht of the Year. Here is how the judges summarised the winner.

“The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey beat stiff competition in this category. Her clever design certainly deserves plaudits. The 410 is the latest addition to the Sun Odyssey range and the lines are by French designer Marc Lombard, who is known for his racing designs and who took features from cutting edge race yachts and translated them to this performance cruiser. The ‘Dreadnought’ bow, non-immersed forefoot and full length chine, though, are not just for speed. They help to create a safer, more practical and roomier cruising boat that has class-leading internal volume. Elsewhere the 410’s side decks slope down aft, allowing for step-free access from the cockpit. A devotion to innovation and willingness to think outside of the usual constraints of the standard cruising yacht make the Sun Odyssey 410 a worthy winner.”

The Sun Odyssey 410 is also the 2019 ‘Cruising World Yacht of the Year’, making the new ‘walkaround’ 8th generation Sun Odyssey range the most awarded yachts in the World today.
