A superb shoal draft example which would suit a new yacht buyer. Though it arrived to Australia in 2021 this yacht was not commissioned and handed over until 2022.
The Sun Odyssey 349 is very highly regarded and is widely agreed to be the best all-round cruising yacht of the past 20 years, and with good reason, as it uses its space both below and on deck superbly, and has phenomenal stability and balance, so is a joy to sail. The shoal draft option is no compromise in sailing performance or stability.
This example is highly equipped, lightly used and optioned for ease of handling with an in-mast furling mainsail and bow-thruster. It has the additional coach roof winches, adjustable jib leads, whisker pole and GRP bowsprit for flying the supplied Code 0. The electric anchor winch has a cockpit remote with chain-counter, there are 7” MFD’s at each helm, it has a full set of cockpit cushions, the teak cockpit table and teak cockpit floor options, transom hot & cold shower, 200W of solar mounted on the 4-bow Bimini. It also comes with a tender and electric outboard.
"Kiela" is antifouled with Coppercoat, which saves significantly on annual antifouling costs, and the Yanmar 21hp engine was serviced in October 24 and has only just done over 500 hours. It drives a shaft and is fitted with the 3-blade Flexofold propellor. It's very manouverable under motor and even easier to handle with the addition of the bow-thruster.
Down below it has the highly popular 2-cabin layout which means that you have a separate dedicated shower stall, and huge dry storage locker aft of this which is also accessible directly from the cockpit. The L-shaped galley has a 100 Litre 12v fridge with internal freezer tray, a 2-burner gas stove with oven. A microwave can be driven from shore-power, or the fitted 2000W Inverter. The yacht has a 200A Lithium house battery, as well as the AGM bow-thruster batteries, and engine start battery.
At the Nav’ station there is a custom water tank gauge, the Fusion stereo, a Raymarine i70 multi, and VHF radio which has a cockpit remote. There is also an autopilot remote.
The saloon has bench seats either side, one full length that could be used as an additional berth, and the upholstery has been upgraded to the Moka fabric. The owner’s cabin has a Queen-sized double (only available on the later models), which has good cross-ventilation, a double-door hanging locker, strip lighting and shelf. The forward cabin also has strip lighting, a hanging locker, seat and side shelves. The overhead hatches in the saloon and forward cabin have both mozzie screens and blinds.
With 53 examples in Australia the Sun Odyssey 349 has proven to suit our sailing conditions and requirements, so don’t miss out on this excellent example! For further details, or to book an appointment, contact PBS now.
