This outstanding one-owner Sun Odyssey 44 Deck Saloon was sold new by PBS and has been carefully specified for ease of sailing, comfort and versatility. A long-time Jeanneau owner, the current owner configured the yacht to be equally suited to relaxed family cruising and competitive twilight racing on Pittwater, where she has been regularly enjoyed with children and grandchildren aboard.

Ease of handling was a priority, with the yacht fitted with a Leisurefurl boom furling system and both a self-tacking jib and performance furling genoa, allowing the sail plan to be tailored depending on how the boat is being used.

With antifouling completed in February 2026 and all new rigging installed in May 2025, this yacht is ready to go with nothing to spend before enjoying the water.

Elegant Deck Saloon Design

The Sun Odyssey 44DS is widely admired for its stylish lines, excellent sailing performance and superb interior space. The cockpit is generous and well protected, while the raised deck saloon creates a light, panoramic living space below.

Cockpit and Deck Layout

Access to the water is easy via fixed steps from the swim platform, where you will also find a boarding ladder and hot and cold shower. Practical cruising features include:

• Custom pushpit bracket for a tender outboard

• Gas bayonet fitting on the stern for the BBQ

• Twin-bottle gas locker beneath the starboard helm seat

• Lazarette locker to port

Simple, Flexible Sail Handling

The Leisurefurl boom furling system allows the mainsail to be hoisted, reefed and stowed entirely from the cockpit. Combined with the self-tacking jib, the yacht becomes remarkably easy to sail short-handed or even single-handed.

For more performance-oriented sailing, the yacht also carries:

• Performance furling genoa

• Storm jib

Offwind sailing is equally well covered with:

• Furling Code 0 on a retractable bow sprit

• Asymmetric spinnaker in a sock

When moving forward, the wide side decks and clear deck layout allow safe and easy access without having to negotiate side stays.

Light-Filled Interior Living

Descending the companionway, the L-shaped galley is located to starboard and offers excellent functionality at sea.

Immediately aft is the access to the full-width owner’s cabin, featuring:

• King-sized berth

• Seating on either side of the bed

• Bedding lockers and hanging locker

• Ensuite bathroom

To port of the companionway is the day head / owner’s head, followed by the aft-facing navigation station. Beneath the nav station is an additional 12V front-loading refrigerator, ideal for extended cruising.

The deck saloon itself is exceptionally light and bright, thanks to the large windows. The layout includes:

• Bench seat to port

• U-shaped dinette to starboard

The saloon table cleverly bi-folds from drinks table to dining table and sits on an electric pedestal, allowing it to be lowered easily to create a large additional double berth for occasional guests.

Spacious Guest Accommodation

Forward is a particularly large guest cabin, featuring:

• Island-style double berth

• Excellent floor space

• Generous storage lockers

The guest head includes a manual toilet, while the aft/owner’s head features an electric toilet. Both heads have separate holding tanks.
