An immaculate one-owner example optioned for ease of handling with the 2-cabin twin head layout that can sleep 7, but as a couples yacht is supremely comfortable. Lightly but regularly used it has been enjoyed for exploring our local waterways and for the pleasure of sailing a nicely balanced cruising yacht with a surprising turn of speed.
From day one this yacht has been superbly maintained with a boom-over cover to keep UV at bay, and the exterior teak has been kept looking like new using Semco teak treatment. The cockpit is roomy with a good sized drop-leaf cockpit table and teak floor to make it warm and inviting. There are four cokcpit lockers including one designed for a life-raft, and the aft port lazarette has a custom outboard bracket built in so that your tender outboard can be kept upright and locker away for security, but with easy access to the stepped transom. There is a hot & cold shower on the transom and a bayonet fitting for a supplied S/S BBQ that stores away when not in use.
The in-mast furling mainsail is controlled from the cockpit with an electic winch and combined with the 22% overlapping genoa offers a very nice level of performance in anything but the very lightest of winds. For stretching its legs there is an almost brand new furling Assy that flies off a sprit that really allows this hull to show its potential.
The Yanmar normally aspirated 54hp diesel is more then adequate to drive this hull and is combined with shaft drive for ease of maintenance with a 3-blade folding prop'. Fuel consumption is meagre at a cruising speed of 6.5 knots.
The saloon has a high level fitout and a very traditionakl style layout. The L-shaped galley is to starboard aft and forward facing nav' station to port. The port side settee can be used as a sea-berth and the deluxe saloon table allows seating to the large drop-leaf saloon table from both the port side settee and the U-shaped seating to starboard.
The guest cabin forward is generous with good floor space and an ensuite, while the owners cabin aft to starboard is as you would expect. The aft head has an electric toilet and seperate dedicated shower stall, while aft of that is a large dry storage area for all of those bulky items such as cockpit cushions.
This is one of the only 2-cabin 42i's in the Country and really is in exceptional condition. Contact PBS to make an appointment to view.
