A Rare Opportunity to Own a Sydney Hobart Champion

Victory in the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race represents one of the highest
achievements in offshore sailing. It is a race defined by endurance, preparation, and
the ability to perform under relentless pressure across more than 600 nautical miles
of demanding ocean. To win overall, and to also secure the Double Handed IRC
Division, places a yacht in truly rare company.

That is exactly what the JPK 1030 Min River achieved in 2025.

Now, this proven offshore champion is being offered to the market through
Performance Boating Sales, presenting an exceptional opportunity for serious racers
in Australia and internationally.

Built With One Goal. Winning Offshore.

Min River was ordered new from France and commissioned with direct optimisation
from renowned designer Jean Pierre Kalbert, founder of JPK Yachts. Every decision
in the build and specification process focused on a single objective. Creating the
most competitive short handed offshore racing platform possible for Australia’s East
Coast and the unique demands of the Sydney Hobart.

JPK yachts have earned global respect for their IRC focused performance, structural
integrity, and remarkable efficiency when sailed with reduced crew numbers. They
remain fully competitive with crew on board, yet their true brilliance lies in delivering
elite offshore speed without the need for a full IRC crew complement. This
philosophy has produced consistent international success and made JPK one of the
most respected names in modern offshore racing.

Engineered for Real Offshore Performance

The specification of Min River reflects careful planning rather than compromise.
A high modulus mast paired with carbon spreaders reduces rig weight while
increasing stiffness and control. The engineered 300 litre water ballast system allows
rapid transfer through large diameter plumbing with cockpit controlled dump valves,
delivering stability and power exactly when required. Adjustable rudder angles help
minimise drag across changing conditions, while practical Australian touches such
as a telescopic swim ladder and cockpit shower ensure usability beyond pure racing
moments.

Helming security and efficiency are enhanced through dedicated seat pads, cockpit
floor chocks, and adjustable foot braces. Deck systems are arranged so every
control is immediately accessible, supporting confident short handed sailing in
demanding conditions. Additional running rigging enables clean downwind sail
peeling, while two reefable headsails and cockpit controlled tack line systems
provide flexible sail management as the weather evolves.

Proven Sail Plan and Advanced Electronics

The complete North Sails inventory was selected using guidance from France and
the experience of the most competitive international JPK campaigns. Two IRC
certificates allow configuration for both symmetric and asymmetric spinnaker setups,
ensuring optimisation across a wide range of race conditions.

On board systems match the same performance intent.

A full NKE electronics suite includes a Carbowind HR sensor, Gyro 3 autopilot with
remote, four Multigraphic displays, ultrasonic speed sensing, and a 9X compass.
Power is supplied by dual 100 amp lithium batteries supported by solar charging,
delivering reliable offshore endurance.

At the navigation station, capability extends even further with battery monitoring,
Iridium satellite communications, Icom VHF, an onboard computer with a 30 inch
mounted display, and integrated Starlink connectivity. The result is a navigation
environment prepared for serious offshore campaigning anywhere in the world.

Purpose Built Offshore Interior

Below deck, the layout is practical, lightweight, and focused on endurance racing.

Saloon bench seating with lee cloths provides secure rest at sea. A compact aft port
galley houses a Jetboil, 12 volt fridge, and sink. The navigation station sits to
starboard, with pipe cots and ballast tank structure positioned aft, alongside an
electric toilet to starboard.

Everything serves performance, safety, and efficiency during long offshore passages.

Immediate Access to Race Winning Capability

Preparing a yacht capable of competing in the Sydney Hobart demands enormous
investment in time, engineering knowledge, and financial commitment. Even then,
success is never guaranteed.

Min River changes that equation completely.

She offers immediate entry into elite offshore racing with a platform that has already
proven its capability at the highest possible level.

For international sailors, the opportunity is equally compelling. Campaign the race in
Australia, then utilise global shipping support arranged through Performance Boating
Sales to return the yacht home and continue competing abroad.

Represented by True Offshore Expertise

The yacht is offered for sale by Lee Condell, Director of Performance Boating Sales
and an accomplished double handed offshore racer with podium finishes in previous
Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Races. His direct racing experience provides rare insight
and credibility when guiding the next owner through the purchase and future
campaign of a yacht of this calibre.
