With 29 yachts already confirmed for our 10th Performance Boating Jeanneau owners Rendezvous Rally, this year to Lake Macquarie, it is certainly going to be a great fun weekend away. Now that the lake entry has been properly dredged there is a minimum of 2.8m draft at the drop-off at mean high water and the channel is 20m wide, so none of the hassles of the past.
Based at Lake Macquarie Yacht Club on Saturday the 11th a sail in company will take place leaving Barrenjoey headland at approximately 7am on Friday the 10th to coincide with the high tide and 1pm opening of the Swansea Bridge. Berthing will then be available at Lake Macquarie Yacht Club.
The briefing will take place at 10.15am on Saturday morning with the sailing activities to commence at 12.20, with a sail in company around the lake and non-spinnaker racing for those with a competitive bent. A function with complimentary food will start at 4.30pm with spot and race prizes provided by generous sponsors without whom we would not be able to host such successful events every year.
