Plans are well underway for this year’s Jeanneau Rendezvous on March the 29th starting at Newport on Pittwater and finishing at Akuna Bay where a function will take place at the Cielo restaurant/function centre. A feeder sail-in-company will leave Watson’s Bay on Sydney Harbour at 12 noon on Friday 28th to Pittwater for those coming North. These are always enormously enjoyable events if you haven’t been before with lots of valuable prizes, and complimentary food for 2 people per yacht at the function.
The programme of events starts with a briefing at the garden forecourt of RMYC Newport at 10.15am followed by an 11.50 start for the cruising division who will have an observation rally. The start for those in the racing division (non-spinnaker) will be midday with the course given at the briefing. On completion of the rally and race yachts will make their way to Akuna Bay for the evening’s festivities. The event is open to any Jeanneau yacht, with typically 40 or so taking part with everything from the early models that were imported in the mid 1980’s to recent handovers.
