A stunning day for the Jeanneau Cup

Middle Harbour Yacht Club Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 409 ‘Galan’ – winner of the first Jeanneau Cup race 2015/16

Last weekend provided some stunning sailing weather as the fleet of Jeanneau yachts lined up for the first of the three race Sydney Jeanneau Cup.

The first race was part of Middle Harbour Yacht Club’s Seven Islands Race and the course took the fleet down the harbour passing Fort Denison, Cockatoo Island, Spectacle Island, Snapper Island, and Goat Island then back around Fort Denison before passing Clarke and Shark Island and back to the finish line.

The racing was close and enjoyable as a range of Jeanneau models, old and new, tussled for the whole day. It was great to watch the match racing between two new Sun Odyssey 349 models who passed each other quite a few times before being within just 50 meters of each other crossing the line!

The Sydney Jeanneau Cup continues with the Chaos & Bedlam Pt Cup on 30/01/16 and the ANZAC Day Two-Up Cup on 25/04/16.
